Social Science Association

The Social Science Association ‘INSPIRARE’ (meaning to inspire) is functioning successfully in Titus II Teachers College with a target of minimum 10 activities every year. The Association functions under the supervision of Dr Anita Mathai, College Principal and Dr Suramya Mathai, teacher in charge. Every year through class election the Association selects a President, Secretary, Treasurer and three executive members as office bearers.
The major aim of the association is to promote curricular and co- curricular activities along with enhancing student support, research and leadership through innovative practises. The Association takes up art and literary competitions along with community extension and social service projects.

Objectives

• To develop human and democratic values among the members
• Motivate learning process and deepen understanding of subject
• Identify and nurture creative potential of students
• Provide direct experiences and help utilising community resources
• Develop the skill of working and learning together
• Promote national and international understanding
• Organise lectures, seminars and competitions on current events
• Make members environmentally sensitised and internalise the concept of sustainability
• Promote sensitisation programmes on Gender, Equality and Empowerment
